Revia (Naltrexone)

Revia is used at treatment of an alcoholism and a drug dependence (opioids) at adults as a part of the full program of treatment.

For dosage definition read the instruction on medicine application.

• Revia it is taken per-orally orally with meal or without.
• It is impossible to take Revia while the analysis on reaction on naltrexone will not be negative.
• Before the intake beginning of Revia at treatment of alcoholism you should not have an intoxication during 7 - 10 days, you should not have problems with a liver or kidneys and you should not have any other problems with health which can make treatment with Revia inexpedient.

Revia is the narcotic antagonist, blocks effects of opioids (for example, heroin, narcotic anaesthetics), reduces thirst for alcohol and its consumption.

If you have missed intake of Revia, return to the regular graph. You should not take more than 1 dose to avoid side effects.

Revia has to be stored at 77 degrees by Farenheit (25 degrees) in protected from high temperature, light and humidity place, out of reach of children and domestic animals.

Intake of Revia is contraindicative if:

• you have an allergic response on components of Revia;
• you take narcotic anaesthetics, suffer from a drug dependence, you have an abstinent syndrome from narcotics, were not tested on compatibility with Revia, the test for narcotics has yielded a positive take;
• you have hepatitis, hepatic insufficiency, or liver disease.

• Avoid performance of potentially dangerous actions and car driving.
• Do not use narcotics when you take Revia, the medicines keeping opiates (for example, medicines for cough and cold, narcotic anaesthetics, heroin). Revia increases sensitivity to narcotics, therefore even in very low doses narcotics can cause coma or hazard to life.
• Report to the dentist or the doctor that you take Revia before any surgical intervention or treatment of teeth.
• Before you have any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Revia.
• During treatment with Revia it is necessary to carry out laboratory analyses of liver function and check on side effects.
• In case you are pregnant, discuss with the attending physician risk of using of Revia during pregnancy or feeding by a breast.

Following side effects can be observed:

• Sense of disturbing; appetite loss; a fever; a constipation; an ejaculation delay; a gastric disturbance; giddiness; sleepiness; a headache; the increased energy; a thirst strong feeling; irritability; a pain in muscles and joints; weakness; a nausea; the raised nervousness; a sleeplessness; vomiting.

• Rash; an itch; an urticaria; a face edema, lips, eyes; a stomach ache; a muscular spastic stricture; urine of dark colour; depression; suicidal thoughts; undue tiredness; vomiting; excrements of white colour.

Revia is to be used only by the patient for whom it is prescribed. Do not share it with other people.
